The Sapim Race Double-Butted J-Bend spoke is the best choice for any quality wheel build; saving weight and greatly increasing the fatigue life of a well-built wheel. It is also said to offer better bump absorption over a non-butted spoke.
The Sapim Race is a fantastic spoke that strikes a great balance of weight and strength. It works well on touring, commuter and mountain bikes alike creating a tough and long-lasting wheel that’s also great value.
These are a longer cut, (310-340mm) for larger diameter wheels, (32″)
For the ultimate combination of strength and weight, we’d recommend the bladed CX-Ray spoke.
For lighter riders, below 75kg, the Sapim Laser is worth considering.
